Active transport is when the cell is “active” in transporting chemical compounds through its cell membrane. It requires the use of energy.

Osmosis is the movement of water molecules. no need of energy..(4rm a regin of higher concentration to a regin of lower concentration).
Active transport needs energy bcoz it moves molecules against the concentration gradient, i.e. from a regin of lower concentration to a regin of higher concentration !

Osmosis is the passage of water from a region of high water concentration through a semi-permeable membrane to a region of low water concentration.
Osmosis is included in passive transport, whereas active transport needs energy, such as ATP .

Active Transport is moving anything other than water through your body that wont automatically do so itself. like blood bringing oxygen to all parts of your body

Active Transport would be like picking up Pasta of the kitchen table by wiping it and picking it up with napkins.

Osmosis would be like spilling water on the table, and just dropping the napkin on top and the water just being absorbed into it without doing any actual work

Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a Semipermeable membrane.[1] More specifically, it is the movement of water across a semipermeable membrane from an area of high water potential (low solute concentration) to an area of low water potential (high solute concentration). In biology, active transport involves the transportation of things from a region of lower concentration to a higher concentration.

Osmosis- net movement of water from an area of HIGH concentration to an area of LOW concentration through a selectively permeable membrane. It DOES NOT REQUIRE ENERGY.
active transport- movement of molecules and ions across plasma membrane from a LOW to a HIGH concentration. It REQUIRES ENERGY.

Active transport requires expenditure of energy, and the assistance of a type of protein called a carrier protein.
Osmosis is a physical process in which a solvent spontaneously moves, without input of energy, across a semipermeable membrane (permeable to the solvent, but not the solute) under influence of higher pressure of the column of water on the hypotonic side of the semipermeable membrane (the side with a lesser concentration), and tends to reduce the difference in concentrations.
Unlike active transport which requires (chemical) energy, the osmosis releases energy, and can be made to do work.

Active transport can only happen in living things because it needs energy to transport large molecules from one spot to the next against the concentration gradient.
Osmosis is when something diffuses into water i think through a semi permeable membrane
example: tea bag in water- osmosis
